a while five months since I’ve really published any content, writing-wise or video-wise. Perhaps grad school has finally crushed me, maybe it has on what I am able to actually produce. But I’m happy looking back on this past year and seeing the same dork with the same passions from before.
What have you been up to?
- Tuesday, May 8, 2018 – LA Games Conference, an annual event for the digital entertainment industry.
- Saturday, May 12, 2018 – Identity LA 2018, an Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration in Los Angeles featuring Jay Park.
- Sunday, May 20, 2018 – Photoshoot with cosplayers X and Y as Gambit and Rogue from the X-Men.
- June 2018 – Spent a week in Europe for my cousin’s bachelor party and visited Barcelona, Ibiza, Lisbon, and Iceland.
At the end of July, I
wrapped up survived my first year at USC and spent August relocating to LA. Now that I’m on my own, I finally feel that I have the bandwidth to do things beyond work, school, and taking care of myself – writing, practicing photography and videography, leisurely reading comics and books, trying new things like guitar and cooking (without a kitchen), and focusing on dorkaholics.
What are your plans for dorkaholics?
This post will be the last comeback post because I plan to regularly post on a weekly basis now. Not too much, not too little. And not just me, my fellow dorks have pieces that I’m excited to publish soon – reviews on X-Men: Grand Design and Jack’s Teriyaki Bowl. In regards to my writing, I’d like to discuss my renewed activity in Pokémon Go, review comics that really touches my soul, and write about how dorkaholics ties into what I’m learning in school.
How is school going?
I’m currently taking two classes – ‘Strategic Renewal & Transformation’ and ‘Leading Innovation & Change’. These classes sounded appropriate for me since there was a time I referred to my role here as Managing Director of Strategy and Innovation. I don’t know if I’ll go back to using that moniker but I do understand that innovation is about keeping a company current and hopefully with my renewed focus on dorkaholics, I can lay out next steps and execute on them immediately to make dorkaholics even better than it ever was.
Thank you for reading, I hope you stick around for more to come! If you’re reading this because you know me and aren’t interested in dorkaholics’ content, return to know that I’m alive. Otherwise, if you ask what I’ve been up to, I’ll just say “You really never read my blog, do you?”
