Steel clashes, fire cuts through darkness, and revenge moves at the center of the frame. That energy pushed the Kagurabachi series from a new manga launch to one of Weekly Shonen Jump’s most closely watched modern titles in less than two years. Now, the series prepares for its next chapter on television. A newly released teaser trailer and visual finally confirm the long-awaited anime adaptation, along with a premiere window and the first details about the staff bringing the project to life.
Kagurabachi Series Officially Heads to TV in 2027
The Kagurabachi series officially received a TV anime adaptation during the Jump Press showcase event. The announcement arrived alongside the anime’s first teaser trailer and key visual. The series will premiere in April 2027.
The teaser trailer introduces the anime’s sharp visual style through flashes of swordplay, burning scenery, and supernatural attacks.
The official website reports that Tetsuya Takeuchi will direct the adaptation at CyPic, the studio previously known as Cygames Pictures. The studio worked on The Summer Hikaru Died, while Keigo Sasaki joined the production as character designer after previous work on Blue Exorcist.
The anime also confirmed its lead voice actor. Taihi Kimura will voice Chihiro Rokuhira, the young swordsmith whose life changes after a brutal tragedy tied to a dangerous criminal group and powerful sorcerers.
The production team also announced a world tour premiere for the first episode ahead of the television launch. Additional details about dates and locations have not been released.
The Kagurabachi Manga Continues Its Fast Rise
Takeru Hokazono launched the Kagurabachi manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023. Since then, the series has expanded quickly across both Japanese and international markets. Japan has released 11 manga volumes to date, while VIZ Media publishes the English-language edition.
The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young boy who trains under his father to become a swordsmith. Their peaceful life ends after tragedy strikes, sending Chihiro on a path tied to revenge and the search for the group responsible for his father’s death.
The manga blends supernatural battles with a grounded emotional core. Hokazono balances fast-action sequences with quieter moments centered on loss, discipline, and responsibility. The artwork also gives the series a strong identity through cinematic panel layouts and detailed sword combat.
Kagurabachi drew attention early in its online run, but the manga continued to build its audience through steady storytelling and expanding worldbuilding. As the chapter count grew, the series established itself as one of Shonen Jump’s major newer titles.
A Major Step Forward for the Kagurabachi Series
The anime adaptation marks a major milestone for the Kagurabachi series, less than four years after the manga debuted. The production staff, early visuals, and global rollout plans place the project among the notable anime launches already scheduled for 2027.
More updates will likely arrive over the next year as the series moves closer to its television debut. For now, the teaser trailer offers the clearest look yet at the anime’s darker tone and the world waiting beyond Chihiro’s revenge story.
