This week, the focus is on “Sandiwara”, “Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai”, “Boyfriend on Demand”, and “One Piece”.

  1. Sandiwara – Trailer

In “Sandiwara”, Michelle Yeoh is everywhere doing everything, all at once (in the city of Penang). Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. This project is in collaboration with Sean Baker (“Anora”, “Left-Handed Girl”, “The Florida Project”) through the London-based fashion brand, self-portrait.

Release Date: Berlinale World Premiere screening on February 13, 2026 and available everywhere on February 20, 2026

Synopsis: Named after the Malay word meaning “drama, theatrical performance or play,” the title captures the essence and spirit of the film which is an exploration of Malaysian culture through the lens of food, music and womanhood.

  1. Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai – Trailer

A man of the 21st century faces off against the best swordsman of the Warring States period of Japan in a battle of sword versus fist in the underground fighting arena of “Baki-Dou”.

Synopsis: Based on Keisuke Itagaki’s “BAKI-DOU,” which was published in Weekly Shonen Champion from 2014 to 2018, this new series picks up after the biggest father-son fight on earth. With no worthy opponents left, Baki and the other battle-hardened fighters grow miserably bored — until a plan is enacted to resurrect Musashi Miyamoto, the greatest swordsman in Japanese history. The unprecedented clash between a legendary samurai revived in the modern times and the strongest underground fighter will be brought to life with stunning animation.

  1. Boyfriend on Demand – Teaser Trailer

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo stars in “Boyfriend on Demand”, a K-drama series about a webtoon producer using a virtual dating service (sounds somewhat like “Black Mirror”, particularly “Striking Vipers”).

Synopsis: Boyfriend on Demand follows exhausted webtoon producer Mi-rae who escapes reality through a subscription-based virtual dating simulation program, where she gets to experience the dates of her dream. Blending the relatable challenges of daily work life and a never-before-seen virtual reality dating subscription program, Boyfriend on Demand is a unique take on the romantic comedy series. Jisoo (BLACKPINK) takes on the role of Seo Mi-rae, who longs for a second chance at love in virtual reality. Seo In-guk (Doom at Your Service, Café Minamdang) plays Park Kyeong-nam, Mi-rae’s colleague and rival webtoon producer.

Things are escalating in the story of “One Piece” on Netflix as we meet key allies and future crew members in Vivi, Chopper, and Nico Robin while also coming face to face with Baroque Works, which means we can expect Crocodile very soon as well.
