4 Ways To Customize Your Xbox

by Guest Submission

Even though you can’t change the next-generation Xbox as much as you can with the PS5, you can still do a lot with it. The best thing about the PS5 was that the faceplates could be taken off, so there was almost unlimited space for custom art. The Xbox Series X is great because it has a sleek, cube-like shape that makes it easy to skin.

Today, we’re going to talk about the best ways to make your Xbox Series X your own.

Change The Background Of Your Xbox Series X/S

To open the Guide and get to many of the options we’ve talked about here, you’ll need to press the Xbox button on your controller. Use RB to move to the Profile & system menu, which has an icon for your profile.

From this menu, choose Settings. Now, go to General > Personalization to get to the options you need.

Changing the wallpaper is one of the best ways to make something your own, and it’s easy to do on your Xbox. To choose a wallpaper, choose My background from the menu above:

  • Possible Xbox Series S Wallpapers
  • You can choose the colour for solid colour and game art unless you have a game highlighted, in which case it will show pictures from that game.
  • You can show off the picture of any Achievement you’ve earned with Achievement art.
  • The custom image lets you choose any image stored on your Xbox. You can easily use images from your PC on your Xbox if you connect a USB drive to it.
  • Screenshot lets you choose a background from one of your saved screenshots.
  • With “Dynamic backgrounds,” you can use a set of “live wallpapers” to give your phone a little more style.

Change The Way The Xbox Dashboard Looks

There’s one more way to change a big part of your Xbox Series X/S, but it’s not on the Personalization menu. You might not notice that you can change how the home screen looks. To do this, press the View button (the one with two boxes to the left of the Xbox button on your controller) while you’re on your Xbox’s dashboard.

You’ll see an overall view of what’s on your Xbox Dashboard, which may include rows for recently played games, the Store, Game Pass, and other similar things. When one of these fields is selected, press A. Then, move it to a new place and press A where you want it to go.

Change The Dashboard

Press X when any row is selected and you want to get rid of it from your Dashboard. Select “Add more to Home” at the top of the list to bring in more tiles. Use the top menu to find the thing you want to add.

For example, under “People,” you can add tiles for your best friends so it’s easy to see what they’re doing. Choose games to add panels for the games you like. Each panel you add will have relevant information next to it, such as a link to the store page and a list of recent changes.

Skins

Xbox skins is the solution to your problem if you’ve been looking for a means to customize the appearance of your console. There are a lot of different ways to go about doing this, and you can pretty much pick and choose a skin to go along with whatever aesthetic you’re going for.
