HoYoverse, a global interactive entertainment brand, has announced that the latest version of Zenless Zone Zero, Version 2.1 “The Impending Crash of Waves,” will be released on July 16. This summer-themed update for the urban fantasy ARPG will introduce Season 2 Chapter 2, focusing on the Spook Shack faction and adding two new regions: Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort. The update promises an unforgettable summer adventure with new outfits, aquatic activities, and friendship.
In Version 2.1, Proxies will partner with the Spook Shack to revive the Fantasy Resort, a once-pristine vacation spot that is now a fading paradise in a story that will delve into coastal mysteries and aquatic adventure. The new regions include Sailume Bay, which is located beneath the cliffs of Failume Heights and serves as the central stage for Chapter 2’s story. The summer story unfolds at the Fantasy Resort as a safety investigation is launched in Sailume Bay to resolve conflicts caused by the Exaltists. This investigation team will include Alice Thymefield, a descendant of the Thymefield family.
Proxies can enjoy a variety of aquatic activities and attractions to help restore the resort. These include surfing through obstacles with power-ups and embarking on sea shooting challenges from a yacht. New fishing spots will also be available for anglers, with new species and optimized interactions to provide a more relaxed gameplay experience. Stylish summer-themed outfits will be available for Yuzuha, Alice, and the protagonists. Other new features include a new Bangboo Auto Battler event called “En-Nah” Chess Legend, which has a PVP mode, and a refreshed Simulated Battle Trial with a new scoring system that rewards combat technique mastery.
Two new allies from the Spook Shack will join the roster in this update. Ukinami Yuzuha is an S-Rank Physical Support Agent who uses her tanuki companion, Kama, to throw candy bombs at enemies. Her “Sweet Scare” ability boosts Anomaly Buildup efficiency and triggers Aftershock attacks.
Alice Thymefield, an S-Rank Physical Anomaly Agent and noble heiress, uses refined swordsmanship to accumulate “Blade Etiquette”. By consuming Blade Etiquette, she can unleash powerful strikes and amplify Assault and Disorder damage. Additionally, a new S-Rank Bangboo named Miss Esme will join, providing beneficial effects that can replenish Energy or HP. The Version 2.1 banners will also feature reruns for the Void Hunter Miyabi (S-Rank Frost Anomaly) and Yanagi (S-Rank Electric Anomaly).
Players can also claim 1,600 Polychromes before the end of Version 2.1 as a token of appreciation for their support!
