5 Must-Have Gadgets to Satisfy Your Technology Cravings

by Guest Submission

The 21st century is fantastic because all kinds of weird and wonderful gadgets get released each day. There are undoubtedly a lot more cool gadgets you can buy today, than if you’re a technology geek say 20 years ago.

You’re likely reading this blog post today because you feel a bit confused. You want to treat yourself to some new technology, but you don’t know what to get. Don’t worry, because you’ll get lots of inspiration on this page! Check out these must-have tech gadgets:

1. Virtual Reality Headset

There’s no denying that virtual reality has become more prevalent in recent years thanks to innovations from brands like the now Facebook-owned Oculus. These days, virtual reality headsets have become more accessible to consumers – and more affordable.

One of the latest innovations in VR headset technology is the Oculus Quest 2. It offers an entirely wireless virtual reality experience and boasts an immersive and entertaining time for anyone that uses it.

Check out the Oculus website to learn more about the Quest 2 VR headset. There are other options, of course, such as the Sony PlayStation VR, HTC Vive Cosmos, and the Valve Index.

Some VR headsets get tethered to a PC and are only suitable for PC gaming, whereas standalone models like the Quest 2 are wireless and have built-in gaming hardware.

If you’ve done some research into virtual reality headsets in the past, you might have noticed that there are inexpensive options where you can slide a smartphone into a device, such as Google Cardboard.

However, those options should best get avoided as they don’t offer a truly immersive experience like the other main players in the market. Plus, you might feel like you’ve wasted some of your money on junk!

2. Drone

Have you ever had a remote control (RC) car as a child? If so, do you remember having hours of fun driving your RC car across all kinds of terrain, such as your backyard, bedroom floor, or even in the sand on a day trip to the beach?

If you’ve answered yes to those questions, you might not be thinking to yourself that you’d like to have another remote control car in your life! But, what if there was something even cooler than an RC car?

Drones are undoubtedly the latest craze in the world of gadgetry and technology. In a nutshell, a drone is a battery-powered device that you can control, which flies wherever you want.

Some of the best drones on the market, such as the DJI Mavic Air 2 from Dr Drone, have a built-in camera that records camera and video footage in stunning high-definition resolutions. Such drones also have long flight times and can get piloted over several miles!

As you might expect, there are drones on the market priced for various budgets; the more you spend, the better the specification. If you’ve never had an RC car as a child or are nervous about piloting a drone, you could always get an inexpensive model for beginners.

Keep in mind that you may need to get a drone license to use this gadget, depending on where you are in the world.

3. Electric Bicycle

It might seem like a strange concept: having a bicycle that can propel itself via a battery and electric motor. The truth is, electric bikes have grown in popularity in recent years, especially now that the price of e-bikes has become more affordable to the masses.

An electric bicycle isn’t something that you would own if you can’t be bothered to pedal your way to a destination; that’s what a motorcycle is for! An e-bike is a useful bicycle/gadget because it can take over when you’re struggling up a hill, for example.

One of the sleekest electric bikes on the market to date is the Angell E-Bike. When using battery power, it can propel you up to 15 mph, but when seen from a distance, it looks like a stylish adult bicycle rather than something with bolt-on battery technology.

If you’re a fan of sleek lines and curves on your gadgets, and you prefer owning an iPhone purely because of its looks, you will love the Angell E-Bike!

4. Ring Stick Up Camera

You’ve probably heard of Ring, the Amazon-owned brand behind what is arguably the world’s most popular video doorbell. Did you know Ring also has a range of other products designed to work in harmony with their flagship video doorbell product?

One such example is the Ring Stick Up Camera. It’s a WiFi-enabled, battery-powered camera that you can use indoors or outdoors. It shares similar features to the doorbell camera, such as live view, motion detection, and the option to speak with people nearby.

The Ring Stick Up Camera boasts 1080p HD video footage, and it even works well at night. You can install the camera on a wall or a horizontal surface, and the installation process is straightforward. Ring’s website even gives you video instructions on how to set it all up.

If you’ve already got a Ring video doorbell, you can link the two devices together so the Stick Up Camera can record footage whenever motion gets triggered by the video doorbell and vice-versa.

5. Bluetooth Key Finder

Lastly, if you’re someone that is forever losing their keys or experiences short-term memory loss at times, it can be frustrating when you need to spend time finding your keys. What if there was a gadget that can help you locate your lost keys?

Thankfully, such a gadget exists! You can now buy Bluetooth key finders, such as the Chipolo One, to find your keys. It features a long-lasting battery, and when you’ve lost your keys, you can have it emit a loud sound to help you locate them.

You don’t have to use it for your keys only, of course. You can also use such gadgets for locating other valuables like mobile phones or tablets.
