Absolute K.O.: DC K.O. Sets The Stage For NEXT LEVEL

by Jasmine Franklin

As DC K.O. reaches its conclusion on March 4, 2026, DC Comics prepares to move forward. With Absolute K.O., Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson position DC ALL IN for its second act, titled DC: NEXT LEVEL. The initiative builds directly from the momentum created by the DC ALL IN SPECIAL, the launch of the Absolute Universe, and the seismic impact of DC K.O. itself.

Snyder and Williamson now shift focus. NEXT LEVEL aims to push the main line with new #1s, a creator-driven vision, and sharper storytelling priorities.

How DC K.O. Reframed the DC Event Playbook

DC K.O. stands as one of DC’s most aggressive crossover events in years. Launched in October 2025, the five-issue miniseries introduced King Omega, a transformed Darkseid who merged with the heart of Apokolips and seized control of a new reality. Using Omega Energy, he forced heroes and villains into a multiversal gladiator tournament designed to crown a new King Omega.

The core series runs through March 2026, with art by Javi Fernández, and is connected to major tie-ins, including Justice League: The Omega Act, Titans, Superman, and DC K.O.: Batman – Knightfight. Superman faced moral consequences tied to survival. Batman relied on endurance and strategy. Fighters from the Absolute Universe stepped into canon-defining roles.

Absolute K.O. and the Shift to NEXT LEVEL

Absolute K.O. marks the shift. Snyder and Williamson frame DC: NEXT LEVEL as a second phase built to push the core line forward. The plan centers on new #1s driven by creators with a clear vision and characters positioned for long arcs.

The Absolute Universe set the tone. NEXT LEVEL applies that confidence across the line, pairing fresh launches with meaningful changes inside ongoing and limited series.

Snyder and Williamson plan to keep pressing ahead in 2026 by building on fan response, retailer buy-in, and narrative follow-through. Williamson pointed to the Absolute Universe as proof that focused direction resonates. NEXT LEVEL extends that strategy to DC’s main line intentionally.

Absolute K.O. holds the line together. DC K.O. cleared the ground. NEXT LEVEL starts building on it.

The Road Ahead After DC K.O.

The end of DC K.O. leaves lasting effects across the DC Universe. Power structures shift. Characters carry forward consequences. Absolute K.O. confirms that “DC ALL IN” operates on forward motion.
