Twitches: Twins Separated at Birth Discover They Have Magical Powers

by Sylvia Adam

“Separately, they must one day be talented, accomplished, even remarkable practitioners of the craft, but only together can they attain their full powers.”

This quote hails from the book The Power of Two written by H.B. Gilmour. The movie Twitches and its sequel Twitches Too are inspired by this book.

The book and its film adaptation are for the most part pretty similar with the exception of minor details such as the age of the twins and the number of Camryn’s siblings.

Back in 2015, Justin Carreiro, a writer for The Young Folks, declared that “Twitches had the perfect mix of what I love: magic, drama and the return of 90s teen stars, Tia and Tamera Mowry.”

I recommend this movie because I find it entertaining in many ways.

The actresses who play the twin witches, Tia and Tamera Mowry, are very well known for their roles in the 90s sitcom Sister, Sister so I think that’s one reason why people would want to watch this movie.

I’ve always admired the Mowry twins’ performances because they find the perfect balance between comedy and drama throughout the film. Their acting coincides with impressive cinematography that is evident as soon as we see the opening scene.

This movie is also G-rated so it’s definitely for people of all ages. However, if young kids want to watch this movie, I would suggest that they have adult supervision just in case they get scared.
