What’s New: GOAT, Wistoria: Wand and Sword, Mother Mary, The Drama

by Neil Bui

Pop culture is a never-ending world of updates, teases, trailers, and hopefully releases. What’s New Wednesday is Dorkaholics’ way to keep us all up to date with what’s new across comics, TV, film, games, and more! This week, the focus is on “GOAT”, “Wistoria: Wand and Sword”, “Mother Mary”, and “The Drama”.

  1. GOAT – Trailer

Basketball phenom Stephen Curry formed his production company Unanimous Media in 2018 which has gone on to produce films such as the documentary “Stephen Curry: Underrated”. Unanimous Media’s next upcoming work is with Sony Pictures Animation (“KPop Demon Hunters”, “Spider-Man” Across the Spider-Verse”) as the film “GOAT” tells the story of one goat by the name of Will who has big dreams to play competitive ‘roarball’ despite detractors telling him that “smalls can’t ball.” Sound familiar?

Release Date: In theaters on February 13, 2026

Synopsis: Will is a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball – a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world. Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionize the sport and prove once and for all that “smalls can ball!”

  1. Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 – Trailer

“Wistoria: Wand and Sword” is about a swordsman named Will (yes another work starring a character named Will [see above]) defying all odds with a talent that is not recognized in a world that favors traits one simply does not have.  Wow, even that last sentence sounds like it could have described both this trailer as well as the last, but in our Will lives in an anime series featuring magic powers, not a feature film about roarball.

Release Date: On Crunchyroll in April 2026

Synopsis: The story follows Will, a young boy who challenges a magic-dominated world armed with nothing but a single sword.

  1. Mother Mary – Trailer

Charli XCX is killing it with her continued work with A24 from starring and producing in “The Moment” to now co-writing songs with Jack Antonoff for the upcoming film “Mother Mary”. From the trailer for “Mother Mary”, there appears to be a supernatural element to the film that has me nervous especially as I’m still recovering from “Bring Her Back.”

Release Date: In theaters in April 2026

Synopsis: Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance.

  1. The Drama – Teaser

I’m excited to see the combined range and talents of Robert Pattinson and Zendaya in “The Drama” as it feels like this film will take us through all the romance, comedy, drama, and beyond when it comes to love.

Release Date: In theaters on April 3, 2026
