Pop culture is a never-ending world of updates, teases, trailers, and hopefully releases. What’s New Wednesday is Dorkaholics’ way to keep us all up to date with what’s new across comics, TV, film, games, and more! This week, the focus is on X-Men ‘97, Human Vapor, Moana, and PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie.

  1. X-Men ‘97 Season 2 – Trailer

The second season of X-Men ‘97 treats fans to the sci-fi time travel elements of the source material with members of the team divided across the past and future, from “the start of Apocalypse’s reign” to “the height of his rule.” My favorite moment in the trailer has got to be Jean Grey forming telekinetic claws.

Release Date: On Disney+ on July 1, 2026

Synopsis: X-Men ’97 Season 2 continues with the heroic mutant team of X-Men, divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home. Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence.

  1. Human Vapor – Trailer

From Japan comes Human Vapor, a supernatural crime thriller series that reboots a legendary Toho film. With visual effects from the same Academy Award-winning team that worked on Godzilla Minus One, viewers around the world are definitely going to be hooked on this murder mystery.

Synopsis: The world recoils in shock when a person suddenly swells and explodes on live television. The culprit behind this unprecedented murder is the “Human Vapor” — a man who can transform his body into gas and slip through any barrier. He announces his killings in advance and carries them out, seemingly mocking the authorities as they struggle to close in on him. With each new incident, he corrodes society with a formless, pervasive fear.

  1. Moana – Trailer

We’re less than a month away from the release of Moana, which might just hold the record for fastest animation to live-action adaptation I’ve seen, or at least for Disney. Dwayne Johnson and Jemaine Clement return to play and voice their characters, Maui and Tamatoa, from the past films.

Release Date: In theaters on July 10, 2026

Synopsis: In Moana, Disney’s live action reimagining of the beloved Oscar®-nominated animated adventure, Moana (Catherine Lagaʻaia) answers the Ocean’s call and, for the first time, voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people.

Everyone’s current favorite children’s animation series is heading to the silver screen with their first movie, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie. As a treat for parents and millennial audiences, the film features a new song by the Backstreet Boys, “Bottle Up”.

Synopsis: After their ship gets caught in a mysterious storm, the PAW Patrol pups crash land on an uncharted tropical island filled with dinosaurs. They meet Rex, a pup who has been stranded on the island for years and has become an expert in all things dino-related. When the PAW Patrol’s archrival, Mayor Humdinger, begins recklessly mining in hopes of exploiting the island for its natural resources, he inadvertently causes a huge, dormant volcano to erupt. The PAW Patrol pups are thrown into a series of high-stakes, dino-sized rescues bigger than anything they’ve done before, as they must stop Humdinger before everything on the island goes extinct.
