Pop culture is a never-ending world of updates, teases, trailers, and hopefully releases. What’s New Wednesday is Dorkaholics’ way to keep us all up to date with what’s new across comics, TV, film, games, and more! This week, the focus is on “Michael”, “Kill Blue”, “Man on Fire”, and “Hokum”.
- Michael – Trailer
Jaafar Jackson is making his film debut in Michael as he portrays his late uncle, the titular Michael Jackson. With family involvement, audiences should look forward to a work that honors and best tribute to Michael Jackson. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, best known for “Training Day” and “The Equalizer” trilogy as well as documentaries such as “What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali” and “Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers”, in addition to truth and legacy, compelling storytelling is certainly going to be a factor in this film. And I’d be remiss to not mention that one of my favorite actors, Colman Domingo, is also going to be in the film!
Release Date: In theaters on April 24, 2026

The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.
