  1. DSTLLRY’s New Erotic Folk-Horror Comic Series, Somna

DSTLRY has unveiled a new comic series, Somna, which will be an erotic folk-horror nightmare by the Eisner Award-winning creators Tula Lotay and Becky Cloonan (Wonder Woman). The two of them have been developing the series for over a decade and will both take on roles writing and illustrating Somna.

Somna culminates from a decade plus reveling in the darkest mythologies of history,” co-creator Becky Cloonan explains. “Being able to explore these lifetime obsessions alongside one of my favorite creators has made this a career-defining project.”

The series spins out of an 11-page story from The Devil’s Cut and is an exploration of puritanical oppression and forbidden passion presented in 48-pages. It’s set amidst the backdrop of the witch hunts in a 1600s English village and follows Ingrid’s escape from the confines of her puritanical world.

“I can’t express how excited I am to finally see Somna conjured into existence,” co-creator Tula Lotaycontinues. “Becky and I have been finessing this brutally dark and sexy journey for years, and there’s been nothing like it before in comics.”

Somna #1 is available now for pre-order and will be sold in local comic shops and digitally via dstlry.com this November.
