  1. Civil War: Second Trailer

With this year being an election year, would it be appropriate to consider Civil War a horror film that depicts the unrest our nation might go through if another election erupts in unrest?

  1. The Sympathizer: Second Teaser

The second teaser for The Sympathizer is out now and reveals more of the complex situation our protagonist finds himself in as a spy being asked to spy on the people who first asked him to spy. Try wrapping your head around that one. The inclusion and utilization of Vietnamese dialogue helps instill an authentic sense of the Vietnamese experience, as the film has me reflecting upon what it means to be Vietnamese, or even more broadly a person loyal to their country, especially in the face of changing times and evolving history following revolutions of sorts.

Release Date: Premieres on Max April 14, 2024

  1. The Watchers: Teaser Trailer

Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of M. Night Shyamalan, is making her directorial debut with The Watchers. The trailer is simply jarring through its use of interspersing foreboding and ominous tones tied to moving throughout a deep and dark forest, against peaceful, operatic music with characters safe within a shelter of sorts. The trailer makes it clear that the title of the film refers to a group our characters are in fear of, but it’s hard to say with certainty what their familiarity or even relation may be.

Release Date: In theaters June 7, 2024
