Eternals: Final Trailer

by Andrew Nguyen

The Eternals have arrived with a brand-new final trailer. All I have to say is…GADZOOKS! This film looks amazing and this trailer is getting me pumped!

The Epicness & Vastness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

I don’t know how this trailer did it but it made me feel like we have barely scratched the surface of the MCU. This may primarily be due to the cinematography and the premise that the Eternals have been on earth for 7,000 years.

The Explanation for Why the Eternals Weren’t Involved in Endgame

Although I wish they could have kept this secret for the movie, Disney knew that MCU fans just could not and would not want to wait to find out! It seems that they didn’t interfere with Thano’s genocidal plan because the Celestials ordered them to only act with human affairs when the Deviants are present. In the comics, the Deviants are the evil counterparts to the Eternals which I got to say, look terrifyingly awesome! Also, maybe they couldn’t interfere cause a certain eternal *ahem ahem* is cousins with the Mad Titan himself? That would have been awkward. Although we got a straight direct answer of why they are not present, I hope they dive deeper!

The Star-Studded Cast

I have been super excited for the Eternals because of the ensemble cast with Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kit Harrington, Kumail Nanjiani, Ma Dong-Seok, and many more terrific actors! Gemma Chan seems to be the primary lead of this movie and who doesn’t love more Asian representation in the MCU? It also appears that Richard Madden’s Icarus is going to be the MCU’s Superman with his super strength, flight, and HEAT VISION. We have still yet to see Kit Harrington’s costume as the Black Knight but I am so ready for it. The entire Eternals have yet to showcase all of their abilities but it’s likely they all have their own uniqueness which I am very excited to see in the full-length feature.

A Refreshing Film by Marvel Studios

Although the MCU films have been hit after hit, many individuals see a pattern and each film has similarities to another. I have not been this excited for an MCU film since Avengers: Endgame. WHICH SPEAKS VOLUMES! Also, this film feels like Chloe Zhao had total creative control which was also repeated by Kevin Feige.

Although I have high hopes for this movie, I understand that this is a trailer and the final product can be completely different (i.e. Avengers: Age of Ultron). There is one thing I can guarantee, and that is the fact that I will definitely be watching this in an IMAX theatre. Eternals arrives in theaters on November 5, 2021.
