ATLUS and Crunchyroll shared major updates of their own on Day 3 of Anime Expo 2023 including updates on new game titles (Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload) and Crunchyroll content such as One Piece, Solo Leveling, A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special, My Hero Academia’s collaboration with the NBA, and more.
ATLUS: Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload
During the ATLUS Presents: The Official Persona 5 Tactica Panel today at Anime Expo 2023, a new character reveal trailer debuted for the upcoming strategy RPG Persona 5 Tactica that dives into the background and unique skill sets that Joker, Morgana, and new character Erina bring into battle against the Legionnaires. Persona 5 Tactica will be on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Windows, Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch November 17, 2023.
During the ATLUS Presents: The Official Persona 3 Reload Panel, a new gameplay video and character details were revealed for the highly anticipated RPG remake, Persona 3 Reload coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Windows, Steam, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in early 2024.
One Piece English Dub Coming to Crunchyroll
During the Crunchyroll Industry Panel, the video streaming service announced that the first 964 episodes of the English dub of One Piece, which follows the story up through the Wano Country story arc would be added to its streaming catalog starting July 5 and will be rolled out in scheduled batches in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The English dub episodes 965-976 from Season 14 Voyage 7 will be streamed for the very first time on Crunchyroll, with new episodes of the English dub released regularly on Crunchyroll moving forward as they are produced.
My Hero Academia Collaboration with the NBA
Crunchyroll is collaborating with TOHO animation, the National Basketball Association (NBA), NBALAB, and HYPERFLY on a My Hero Academia collab that brings a one-of-a-kind streetwear line with exclusive items that will debut this weekend at NBA Con in Las Vegas and a full range of merch launching this fall.
A new trailer for A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special debuted during the panel with the series launch set for October 2023. Is returner going to be the next genre that will have a surge of series release following the most recent focus on isekai (Japanese: 異世界 means “different world” or “otherworld” and refers to a genre of speculative fiction—both portal fantasy and science fiction are included)?
